ABOUT JULIE:

Julie Vargas specializes in music lessons, theater, and creative writing. She began her musical journey as an award-winning, full-scholarship saxophone performance major at Central Michigan University and continued to expand her horizons, recording a contemporary pop album of original music and performing regionally, while also working in the child development field for over 12 years. She taught band and music in several private schools, home school groups, and churches, and attended artist development training conferences regularly in Nashville, TN,  There, she honed her knowledge of stage performance, songwriting, artist development, and vocal technique from experts in pop, country, and gospel genres.  Most recently, Julie has taught piano, saxophone, clarinet, voice, acting and theater, creative writing and led a journalism/yearbook team.  She has had the privilege of leading five recent stage productions including The Sound of Music, It's a Wonderful Life, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and two original musicals that Julie wrote and directed herself with her students' input.   Several of Julie's music students have gone on to win first and second chairs in the district and the state bands of Florida, received college scholarships, and degrees in various music fields.

Julie loves spending every moment she can with her family and her adorable dachshund puppy, Lola, and has developed a huge passion for dishing up healthy (mostly vegan) meals, playing pickleball or biking, and catching anyone she can behind her camera due to her love of photography.
